Rohit Sharma & Jasprit Bumrah

1. Rohit Sharma (Captain)

2024 Stats: Matches: 11; Runs: 378; Strike-rate: 160.17

Unsurprisingly, Rohit Sharma will spearhead our Cricket Winner T20I Team of the Year arsenal. He appeared in only three T20Is before the World Cup. He set an example with the bat on the big stage and finished as the competition's second-highest run-scorer.

Rohit demonstrated his leadership abilities by taking chances and creating a foundation for his team to build on. His best knock came just when the squad needed it the most. The Super-Eights match against Australia provided an opportunity to avenge his ODI World Cup final defeat, with his 92-run innings catalyzing their win. Also, he has struck two half-centuries and one century across the format.

2. Travis Head

2024 Stats: Matches: 15; Runs: 539; Strike-rate: 178.5

Travis Head, a.k.a Australia's nightmare attacker, had another remarkable year. Head continued to take bowlers down for fun as he caused mayhem at the top of the order. Head is known for hitting peak form at the perfect time, especially when the stakes are high.

His most significant performance of the year came in the Super Eight when he scored 76 against India and 80 against Scotland. Despite juggling all three forms, Head appears to have struck the correct balance and is prospering at the top of the Australian T20I side, becoming one of the most destructive batters of his age.

3. Nicholas Pooran

2024 Stats: Matches: 21; Runs: 464; Strike-rate: 142.33

Nicholas Pooran, the West Indies wicketkeeper-batter, was in excellent form during 2024. He scored quickly in the 21 games he has played and elevated his boundary-hitting game to new heights. Pooran would be an excellent choice at number three, where he can continue to attack bowlers in the powerplay and even improve the run rate when necessary.

He ended the T20 World Cup as the non-opening batter with the most runs, demonstrating his devastating ability. His finest innings was an unbeaten 65 against runners-up South Africa at Tarouba, which enabled West Indies to finish the chase quickly.

4. Suryakumar Yadav

2024 Stats: Matches: 18; Runs: 429; Strike-rate: 151.59

Suryakumar Yadav is perhaps the finest hitter in the shortest format right now, so it's no surprise that he makes this list. Slotting in at number three or four, he has been a significant threat to opponents due to his incredible ability to cover all areas of the pitch.

Despite a disappointing performance with the bat in their winning 2024 T20 World Cup, his determination and world-class fielding were enough. Surya's most remarkable performance, a 28-ball 53, came against Afghanistan, helping them set a reasonable goal. His knock came when the top order struggled to get started. He allied with the middle classes to shift the tide to India's advantage.

5. Sanju Samson (Wicketkeeper)

2024 Stats: Matches: 13; Runs: 436; Strike-rate: 180.17

Around a year or two ago, Sanju Samson was always under the cricket spectators' radar as deserving of a spot on the international side. Though he did have a lean patch, and many of them were backing him, the same wanted him to leave his wicketkeeping spot.

And this year was all about his bat doing the talking. In the 2024 calendar year, Samson has struck one half-century and three centuries, implying his swashbuckling calibre and how he can play a pivotal role in bolstering the batting attack. His three centuries have come up against Bangladesh and South Africa in three T20I matches consecutively. By this, he became the third-highest century scorer for the Indian side, only after Rohit Sharma (5) and Suryakumar Yadav (4).

6. Sikandar Raza

2024 Stats: Matches: 24; Runs: 573; Strike-rate: 146.55; Economy: 6.53

Sikandar Raza makes this list because of his exceptional all-round talent. In his 39th year, the allrounder turned skipper continues to produce for the Chevrons, contributing 199 runs and 10 wickets to their undefeated record in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup sub-regional Africa Qualifier Group B.

While Zimbabwe's T20I team is still a work in progress arsenal, the African side defeated Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan this year under his supervision. His highlights would be in the sub-regional qualifier that Raza secured his maiden T20I hundred and five-wicket haul and his crucial win as a captain in the bilateral series against the 2024 T20 World Cup champions, India.

7. Hardik Pandya

2024 Stats: Matches: 17; Runs: 352; Wickets: 16; Strike-rate: 150.42; Economy: 8.23

Hardik Pandya had an exceptional year, becoming the first Indian to lead the ICC rankings for T20Iaallrounderss. His presence undoubtedly made a difference in helping India win its second T20 global title. It's difficult to forget that crucial final over against South Africa, when he protected 16 runs to seal the trophy.

Pandya's bat and ball skills are invaluable to any squad, and his presence increases his team's lethality in all areas. From an allrounder's standpoint, his finest performance of 2024 has to be against Bangladesh in North Sound, when he hit a superb fifty to see through India's batting innings and struck with the ball to give India an early breakthrough in the fourth over.

8. Rashid Khan

2024 Stats: Matches: 14; Wickets: 31; Economy: 5.6

It has been another remarkable year for Afghanistan's T20I captain, Rashid Khan. It was momentous as the national team advanced to their first World Cup semifinal under his helm. He skilfully managed the responsibilities of captain and strike bowler for his side. He got 31 wickets this year, averaging 5.6 runs per over.

As a bowler, he remains an irresistible force, with hitters trying to read his numerous variations. Rashid's inclusion in this eleven is unsurprising, given his status as the first-choice wicket-taking spinner. His most remarkable performance with the ball came against Bangladesh, where he picked up four wickets to give the team a historic victory.

9. Fazalhaq Farooqi

2024 Stats: Matches: 17; Wickets: 24; Economy: 7.21

Fazalhaq Farooqi has had an outstanding year as a pivotal pacer for the underdogs in Afghanistan. His ability to stroke the ball in both directions demonstrates his mastery of the new ball. He had a standout tournament in the United States and the West Indies, finishing as the leading wicket-taker.

He was a key figure in Afghanistan's unprecedented march to the T20I championship. Farooqi's most significant effort of the year has to be his four-for against New Zealand, who were skittled for 75. He got three wickets during the powerplay to give Afghanistan the perfect start.

10. Jasprit Bumrah

2024 Stats: Matches: 8; Wickets: 15; Economy: 4.17

Regardless of the format, Jasprit Bumrah delivers consistently. Batters may have intended to play out his overs and target the rest, but the Indian speed spearhead finds a way to take wickets at critical moments.

Unsurprisingly, Bumrah cuts after posting a 4.17 economy rate and 15 wickets in the T20 World Cup, a stunning performance for a fast bowler. Even in the final against South Africa, he ended his four overs with only 18 runs conceded, collecting wickets with the new and old ball. His most outstanding performance was against Afghanistan, where he took three wickets and conceded only seven runs in Bridgetown.

11. Arshdeep Singh

2024 Stats: Matches: 18; Wickets: 36; Economy: 7.49

To complement Jasprit Bumrah for another reliable fast-bowling option, Arshdeep Singh quietly established his mark in the Indian T20I setup, which produced a lethal pacers duo in the shortest format of the game. He had an outstanding bowling performance, taking 17 wickets and finished second in the T20 World Cup 2024. Arshdeep's performance against the USA was awe-inspiring, with figures of 4/9 from four overs.

He gave India the perfect start, taking two wickets in his opening over and two more later. Arshdeep is a lock, given his performance and the variation his left-arm speed would bring. Like Bumrah, it is no surprise to find Arshdeep Singh donning the Indian jersey across all three formats.
