The Gujarat Titans (GT) are recognised for their strategic auction technique. Despite a good league stage performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, where they placed third and advanced to the Eliminator. But they got knocked out, which revealed a few critical structural flaws. GT has a relatively steady group, with 20 players that form a strong core.

However, strategic releases and trades of Gerald Coetzee and Sherfane Rutherford leave them with a nominal budget of INR 12.90 crore and only five positions to fill (four overseas). Their target audience must be high-impact role specialists. That being said, here are the top three players that the Gujarat Titans should look for in the forthcoming IPL 2026 Mini Auction. 

1. Jason Holder

Jason Holder is a key objective to meet the squad's need for a genuine fast-medium bowling all-rounder. Despite his hefty starting price, Holder is an excellent asset: a true fast-medium bowler who can operate in the middle overs and deliver useful, right-arm pace in the death.

His ability to strike the long ball with the bat serves as strong lower-middle-order insurance alongside Rahul Tewatia and Shahrukh Khan, which GT lacks. Holder's IPL stats include 26 matches in which he scored 189 runs and took 35 wickets, establishing him as a solid pace-allrounder.

2. Deepak Hooda

Deepak Hooda can be one of the domestic all-rounders' options that can bolster their whole unit. Though he had a forgettable previous season with the Chennai Super Kings, it's not a surprise if he displays a stellar comeback for any new franchise.

GT can capitalise on the player and enhance their middle-order unit and try to get some pivotal wickets through his bowling skills. In 125 IPL matches, he has made 1496 runs and scalped over ten wickets.

3. Rahmanullah Gurbaz

Rahmanullah Gurbaz is a viable choice, and it would be interesting to see him back with his former franchise. With Buttler remaining as their primary overseas goalie, GT needs a dedicated, high-impact backup keeper who can also serve as an aggressive top-order batter when required.

Gurbaz's arrival adds a versatile, high-energy reserve who can play two crucial roles (opening and keeper) with international quality. He is an explosive opening hitter who can step in if Buttler needs to rest or if an early wicket comes out on specific pitches. In 19 IPL matches, he has scored 363 runs at a strike rate of around 140.
