The IPL 2026 retention list is out. Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings are expected to start big bidding wars because they have the highest purse among the 10 teams for next month’s mini IPL auction in Abu Dhabi on December 16.

KKR will enter the auction with Rs 63.4 crore after releasing some major non-performing players like Venkatesh Iyer (Rs 23.75 crore) and Andre Russell (Rs 12 crore). CSK have also created a purse of Rs 40 crore by releasing many players, even after trading Sanju Samson.

More than 160 players have been retained by the 10 IPL teams ahead of the IPL 2026 auction. Here is a look at the most expensive player of each team before the auction.
