Although they have not won a single Women's Premier League title, the Delhi Capitals have consistently been the most successful team in the tournament's three editions to date. By releasing their reliable Aussie captain, Meg Lanning, this came as a surprise for many.

1. Laura Wolvaardt

Laura Wolvaardt rose to prominence for her impeccable captaincy for the South Africa Women's side, where she led the team to the Women's World Cup final as the runners-up. In addition, she had the highest run getter of the tournament, citing her batting calibre.

With her captaincy and batting skills, the Delhi Capitals can target her as a formidable captain option. Her WPL stats comprise 342 runs made in just 13 matches, with a strike rate of over 130.

2. Renuka Singh

Renuka Singh is one of the most reliable pacers for any cricket team. With her stint in the Royal Challengers Bengaluru side, Singh's potential of scalping wickets at pivotal moments has helped the squad change the game to their way.

Though she has the weakness of leaking runs, she can still turn the tables and act as a decisive campaigner for the capital’s side. In her 23 WPL matches, she scalped 13 wickets in a decent economy of over eight runs.

3. Phoebe Litchfield

Phoebe Litchfield should definitely be one of the batters to target for the swashbuckling Delhi Capitals batting order. Litchfield has been considered as 'one for the future' stars ever since her junior cricket days. The left-handed top-order batter is now a key component of Australian teams across formats. 

Although she has had a forgettable previous edition of the Gujarat Giants, Litchfield's inclusion will add more depth to the team's batting segment. In her 14-match stint, she made a decent 199 runs at an average of 15 and a strike rate of over 120.
