Opener John Campbell and No. 4 batter Shai Hope scored centuries for the West Indies in the second innings of the second Test against India in Delhi. The match is being played at Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Campbell faced 199 balls and scored 115 runs, hitting 12 fours and 3 sixes. Hope scored 103 runs from 214 balls. Their scores helped the West Indies reach a strong total. These centuries ended a 51-year wait. After the 1974 India-West Indies Test in Bengaluru, this is the first time two West Indies batters scored hundreds in their second innings of a Test in India.

Two West Indies Batters Score Centuries in Second Innings

For the first time in 51 years, two West Indies batters scored centuries in the second innings of the same Test in India.

Campbell made his first Test century by hitting Ravindra Jadeja for a six on the 175th ball. Hope made his third Test century by hitting a boundary. They added 177 runs for the third wicket in two sessions. Their partnership helped West Indies avoid an innings defeat.

Highest Third-Wicket Partnerships for West Indies vs India

Campbell tried a reverse sweep but was bowled by Jadeja on the third ball of the 64th over. Hope was out to Mohammed Siraj on the fifth ball of the 84th over.

Siraj now has 37 wickets in Tests this year. He is the top wicket-taker in 2025. Zimbabwe’s Blessing Muzarabani is second with 36 wickets in nine matches. Siraj got his 37th wicket in the 15th innings of the eighth Test.

Earlier this year, Siraj played five Tests against England and took 23 wickets. In the first Test against West Indies at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, he took 4 wickets in the first innings and 3 in the second innings.

In the first innings of the ongoing Delhi Test, Siraj bowled 9 overs and took 1 wicket.
