A Heartfelt Thank You Note From Jasprit Bumrah To Ravi Shastri And The Outgoing Coaching Staff

The India pacer expressed gratitude on Wednesday to Team India’s outgoing coach Ravi Shastri and to the rest of the support staff for their support, motivation, and encouragement throughout his career. Shastri, Arun, and Sridhar were all assigned the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup as their last assignment. The incoming head coach, Rahul Dravid, will be assigned to lead a home series against New Zealand in T20Is and Tests.

“For the words of support, motivation, and encouragement. For the guidance and the tireless work behind the scenes. For being a constant source of learning and counsel. Thank you for your invaluable contribution and good luck for your future endeavours,” tweeted Bumrah.

With the Super 12 stage still open, Ravi Shastri, Bharat Arun, and R Sridhar’s tenures as coaches ended. Over the course of Shastri’s tenure, India participated in 43 Tests, winning 25 and losing 13. Shastri coached Team India for 76 ODIs and 65 T20Is. 51 One Day Internationals and 43 Twenty20 Internationals were won by the Men in Blue. It is safe to say that the wheels came off for Shastri during his last assignment, the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, when the ‘Men in Blue’ dominated bilateral series, but the ICC title eluded them!
