In a major turnaround, India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal asked the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) to cancel his request for a No Objection Certificate (NOC), just a month after the opener asked the MCA for an NOC to help him shift from Mumbai to Goa.

According to the latest developments, taking a U-turn, Jaiswal is now open to representing Mumbai again. Though MCA has yet to make a decision on the matter. Multiple Mumbai cricketers have shifted their base from Mumbai to Goa, like Arjun Tendulkar and Siddhesh Lad; Jaiswal also announced his plan to do the same a month before. Goa had experienced a notable run in the Ranji Trophy, as they qualified for the knockout stage. The inclusion of Arjun and Lad can prove vital for the team in the upcoming seasons.

It was speculated that the left-hand batter's move was because of the fact that the Goa cricket governing body offered Jaiswal a leadership role to attract one of the top-tier talents of the country. The batter, who moved to Mumbai from Uttar Pradesh at the age of only 11, had said, "Goa has thrown me a new opportunity and has offered me a leadership role. My first goal will be to do well for India, and whenever I’m not on national duty, I will be playing for Goa and trying to make them go deep into the tournament. This was an (important) opportunity that came my way, and I just took it."

MCA yet to take a decision about Yashasvi Jaiswal

After the tempting proposal from Goa, the 23-year-old opener asked MCA for an NOC, which would allow him to play for the other state. Now it seems that Jaiswal has changed his mind and currently has no intention to play for Goa.

As per the media report, Jaiswal, through an e-mail, requested MCA to "consider my request in withdrawing my NOC given to me, as I had some family plans in shifting to Goa, which for now have been curtailed! So I sincerely request MCA to allow me to play for Mumbai this season."
