Arshdeep Singh creates hilarious reel with Gautam Gambhir after India’s third T20 World Cup triumph

When Gautam Gambhir was appointed as the head coach, the primary objective of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)) was to bring consistency in winning ICC trophies. Gambhir has achieved that goal within two years of his tenure, guiding India to their second ICC title under his coaching. Last year, India lifted the ICC Champions Trophy, and they have now added theICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 to their cabinet. Ahead of this tournament, questions were raised about Gambhir’s approach, but the title triumph has effectively silenced his critics.

India defeated New Zealand by 96 runs in the final to clinch the T20 World Cup title for the second consecutive time. While the previous triumph came under the coaching of Rahul Dravid, this time India scripted history under head coach Gautam Gambhir. India dominated the title clash and secured a comfortable victory without much trouble. After lifting the trophy, the mood in the camp was celebratory, and amid the joyful scenes, fast bowler Arshdeep Singh made a funny reel with Gambhir, which is going viral on social media.

Left-hand pacer is known for making light-hearted videos with his teammates, but this time he teamed up with head coach Gautam Gambhir for a fun video. In the video, Arshdeep jokingly says, “Oye paaji, kadhi has bhi liya karo,” to which Gambhir smiles and replies, “Singh is king.” The hilarious exchange instantly caught the attention of fans on social media.

India became the first team to win three T20 World Cups

In the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 final at Narendra Modi Stadium, India largely took control of the match in the first innings with a dominant batting display, posting a massive total of 255/5 on the board. Chasing such a huge target was always going to be difficult, and under pressure, New Zealand’s batting line-up collapsed as the side was bowled out for 159.

With this victory, India created history by winning the ICC Men's T20 World Cup title for the third time, becoming the first team to achieve the feat. Before this, no team had won the tournament more than twice in the shortest format, but India has now set a new benchmark.

India first won the ICC Men's T20 World Cup title in 2007 under the captaincy of MS Dhoni. They repeated the feat in 2024 under the leadership of Rohit Sharma. Now, secured the trophy once again under captain Suryakumar Yadav.
