Following Pakistan’s crushing defeat against India in the Asia Cup 2025 Super 4 clash, former captain and ex-Prime Minister Imran Khan has launched a sarcastic attack on the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Speaking from jail through his sister Aleema Khan, he mocked the role of the board and the army in the nation’s cricket affairs.

Imran quipped that if Pakistan truly wanted to defeat India, PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi and Army Chief General Asim Munir should open the batting. His comments came after India chased down Pakistan’s total with six wickets to spare at the Dubai International Stadium, further exposing the gap between the two rivals.

Not stopping there, Imran also mocked Pakistan’s judiciary. According to Aleema Khan, he suggested that Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa and Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja could act as on-field umpires, while Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Sarfaraz Dogar could serve as the third umpire.

Growing criticism of Pakistan cricket

India’s consecutive wins over Pakistan have not only raised questions about the team’s performance but also about their off-field behaviour. Controversies began after the September 14 group-stage match, when Indian players refused handshakes in protest of the Pahalgam terror attack, prompting PCB chief Naqvi to complain to the ICC. In the Super 4 clash, Haris Rauf added fuel by flashing a ‘6-0’ gesture and mock fighter jet signals referencing Operation Sindoor.

Former fast bowler Wasim Akram also confessed that watching Pakistan's struggles was "painful." He acknowledged India's supremacy over the last four to five years, citing their fitness, ability, and stability. He added Pakistan's decline was reflected in collapsing from 91 in the first 10 overs to well under 200, while India continued to provide depth in each and every department.
