Former India captain Rohit Sharma takes a dig at the England cricket team in his own way during an event on Sunday (December 21). To describe how tough it is to play in Australia, Rohit mentioned the England cricket team's current situation in the ongoing Ashes 2025-26, where the home team, Australia, has already won three out of the first three matches of the 5-match Test series.

The England cricket team, led by Ben Stokes, has now only a couple of matches to save their prestige against their archrival. On Sunday, Sharma presented at the Masters Union event, where he shared his huge cricket knowledge and experience with the students.

The experienced opener said that playing in Australia is the most difficult task for him. For example, he mentioned the England cricket team. "Playing in Australia is the most difficult; you can ask England about it," Sharma said.

Rohit Sharma mentioned Australia as the most challenging

Rohit travelled with Team India in October to play a 3-match series against Australia. It was his first match since the Champions Trophy 2025 final. The right-hander had a shaky start in the ODI series against Australia as he was dismissed cheaply in the first ODI. He found his rhythm soon, scoring 73 and an unbeaten 121 runs in Adelaide and Sydney, respectively. He carried the form during the 3-match ODI series against South Africa too. In this contest, Mumbaikar scored a couple of half-centuries.

As he retired from the Test and T20I formats, Rohit is eligible to play only in the 50-over game. Team India will play their next ODI series next year, against New Zealand. Then, it is expected to see Sharma again in action for Team India.
