AUS-W vs IND-W, 2nd ODI

Australia Women will take on India Women at Bellerive Oval, Hobart, in the second ODI of the three-match series on February 27. Australia is currently leading the series off and will want to seal it in style with another win, while India will want to bounce back and draw the contest.

India elected to bat after winning the toss in the first ODI but the call didn't pay off. Megan Schutt gave Australia an early breakthrough by dismissing Pratika Rawal for a duck, and India’s top order struggled under pressure. Smriti Mandhana scored a steady 58, and captain Harmanpreet Kaur added 53 despite discomfort. Kashvee Gautam played a useful knock of 43 towards the end, but India were bowled out for 214 in 48.3 overs. Ashleigh Gardner was impressive with the ball, picking up three wickets.

Australia chased the target comfortably. Alyssa Healy scored 50 in what is her farewell series, while Beth Mooney anchored the innings with a solid 76. Although India’s spinners tried to slow things down, Australia reached the target in 38.2 overs with plenty of balls to spare. The hosts will now look to continue their strong form, while India must improve in all departments to stay alive in the series.

AUS-W vs IND-W: Pitch Report

At Bellerive Oval, batting is usually not easy at the start. Fast bowlers get help from the new ball, especially during the power play. The pitch has good, even bounce, so batting becomes easier later. After the power play, batters feel more comfortable and can play their shots freely.
