CSK vs PBKS, this is the 999th match in IPL history. And the next one MI vs RR will be the 1000th one. But the thing to say is that the 999th match was truly a great one. Chennai fans & management will be distraught with the result as it is a harsh thing to realize. 

Earlier in the 41st  match of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2023) skipper MSD won the toss and decided to bat first. This decision helped CSK to set a big target for PBKS. Devon Conway scored big runs, and Shivam Dube’s explosive innings set the team total to 200.

Chennai had the score to defend but they didn’t start well with the ball. Their opening bowler Tushar Deshpande & Akash Singh again went ineffective. The game changer was sir Ravindra Jadeja who turned the match towards CSk by picking quick wickets in quick succession.

Deshpande came into the later phases and also take wickets. But gave more runs. Mahesh Pathirana did a great job by bowling a great spell at death overs by not being able to defend 8 runs in the last over of the match.

Sikandar Raza’s end cameo helped PBKS to win against CSK in IPL 2023 

What a game, and what a win for Punjab. And this win gives hope to qualify for playoffs. When they came to bat 201 runs were set on the scoreboard. Other than their last few matches PBKS openers Shikhar Dhawan & Prabhsimran Singh started in great style. They targeted CSK’s fast bowlers in the powerplay. 

This pair added 50 runs for their first wicket partnership. Punjab lost their wickets in a quick interval, and then Liam Livingstone came into play. Prabhsimran scored 42 in just 24 balls, setting the stage for the next batters.

When Livingstone got out by the pacer of CSK he has done his job. Just PBKS innings then need only some final touches. Sam Curran and JItesh Sharma tries their best to give it and scored 29(20), and 21(10) respectively. 

After losing a set of batters in the last overs of the match, fans think CSK won the match easily. But there was a twist in the match. Sikandar Raza who played IPL for the first time & who known for his explosive cameos standing in the middle of the ground. 

Sikandar Raza scored 13 runs in just 7 balls. Of which 8 came from the last over of Mahesh Pathirana. By hitting four in the last ball of the game Punjab won the match by 4 wickets. Devon Conway was picked for the Player of The Match award despite finishing on the losing side.
