India showed great fight and spirit on the final day of the fourth Test at Old Trafford to stop England from winning. Washington Sundar, who came in to bat at number 5, played one of the best innings of his career. He took his time, stayed focused, and reached his first-ever Test century in the last over of the day. He scored 101 runs from 206 balls. As soon as Sundar completed his century, both teams shook hands and ended the match in a draw.

There was some confusion after the game, as some thought India had taken a 3-1 lead in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. But the official series score stands at 2-1 in England’s favour after this drawn Test. Still, India’s strong performance on the last day won the hearts of fans and has set up a thrilling end to the series.
