Ollie Pope bowled out

Absolutely an unplayable delivery, wickets shook, bails shattered, and Akash Deep struck again. England lost their 4th wicket in the second innings of the 2nd Test of the ongoing series. Ollie Pope had no clue how to defend the inswinging delivery. Pope tried to defend but failed, and Akash Deep hit the bullseye yet again.

Day 5 of the 2nd Test in Edgbaston started with a delay due to heavy rain. After the rain stopped, the play resumed, and India did not take too much time to clinch the set batsman, Ollie Pope. After the conclusion of Day 4, Pope and Harry Brook remained on the crease not out and started the final day.

To defeat England in the fortress, India needed 7 wickets, and on the other side, the home team got the target of 608 in 90 overs. Even with the Bazball method, the target has been looking far away from the grip of the host side. After the conclusion of the previous day's play, the England batting coach did not rule out a possible draw. Pope in the middle was an ideal man to play an anchor role. His technique and compassion could've helped the team to build a solid partnership.

The ball hit the deck and went through

Shubman Gill's team, India, knew the importance of the wicket, and Akash Deep again made his captain smile. It was a good-length delivery from the India pacer, on the line of the stumps, and then the inswing did the rest of the job. The right-handed batter tried to defend the ball on his front foot, but by then the ball had shifted his direction towards the middle stump.

The red duke ball went through between the bat and the pad to disturb the timber. Ollie Pope departed after scoring a 24-run off 50. England has started to lose control over the match, and India is slowly taking steps forward to claim a historic win in Edgbaston.
