Enthralling, unpredictable England vs. India (ENG vs. IND 3rd Test) at Lord’s. For most of Day 4, India was ruling all over the ground. They came onto the ground with the mindset to accomplish the unfinished business that initiated during the closing moments of Day 3.

Today (July 13), when Mohammed Siraj took the wicket of Ben Duckett, he came right on the opener’s face to express himself. The intense body gesture of Siraj described all the anger they kept inside only to release at the right moment, at the right time. England lost their four wickets within 90 runs on the board. The counterfight commenced by Joe Root, Harry Brook, and skipper Ben Stokes was way down from their infamous ‘Bazball’ game style.

On the pitch where most of the fireworks were done by the fast bowlers of both teams, Washington Sundar appeared as the surprising element of the day. Sundar took 4 wickets in the second innings from a little-bit dried-up Lord’s soil. Interestingly, he bowled out all four men—Joe Root, Ben Stokes, Jamie Smith, and Shoaib Bashir. England lost all ten wickets by 192 runs in the second essay.

  • Brace for Mohammed Siraj
  • Washington Sundar took 4
  • India lost 4 early wicktes

India with the edge, England with a glimpse of hope

The first innings squared perfectly after India scored 387 against England’s first innings of 387. When Bashir went back to the hut in the second innings, India might have been surprised to see a straight path leading to the glory moment. But the distant path has proved not as easy as it appeared before, as India, one by one, loses the wickets of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Karun Nair, Captain Shubman Gill, and the night watchman Akash Deep.

By the end of Day 4, India, after losing 4 scalps, got 58 on the scoreboard. They have to score 135 more runs to encrypt another victory at Lord’s and a 2-1 lead in the ongoing Anderson-Tendulkar trophy.
