The carnage, which was initiated by Ayush Mhatre, finished with Dewald Brevis. The upcoming South African star batter shattered the stability of Gujarat Titans' (GT) bowling line-up.

After dismissing Mhatre and Devon Conway, Prasidh Krishna and other GT bowlers tried their best to lower the high run rate of Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Shubman Gill was utilizing his bowlers and strategy well enough until Brevis decided to go berserk.

He took only 19 deliveries to complete his half-century; overall, he got 57 by facing 23 deliveries with a strike rate of 247.83, powered by four boundaries and five over boundaries. With this lightning-fast half-century, Brevis put his name into a list of all-time records as a Chennai Super Kings player.

He became one of the fastest CSK batters to reach 50. Former India and CSK middle-order batter Suresh Raina took only 16 deliveries to complete his 50 in the yellow jersey back in 2014 against Punjab Kings.

Dewald Brevis now registered his name in the record book of IPL

After that, Moeen Ali and Ajinkya Rahane, former CSK players, needed only 19 balls to touch the landmark. Dewald also took the same number of deliveries as Ali and Rahane to fetch a fifty.

After experiencing a horrible season, CSK management has started to rechalk their strategies for next season. Ayush Mhatre and Dewald Brevis were initially not in the IPL 2025 squad; they joined the yellow camp during the midseason.
