The World Champions, the Indian Women’s Blind cricket team, met the Prime Minister of the country, Narendra Modi, as the team arrived at his New Delhi residence with the trophy. All the players together gifted the PM with a signed bat after the Blue Brigade won the title for the first-ever Blind Women’s T20 World Cup played on November 23. They defeated Nepal by seven wickets in Colombo.

PM Narendra Modi signed the World Cup final ball while talking to the women’s side. He also celebrated by lifting the trophy and welcomed the players by feeding them laddu. India was captained by Deepika TC from Karnataka, as the 16 players were picked from nine different states across the country to form the team.

These included different players from Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Delhi, Assam, and Bihar, as the players were taught about cricket through school teachers, NGOs, and community camps. It started on November 11 in Delhi, where India, Nepal, Australia, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and America participated in the tournament.

In the group stage of the event, all teams featured in five games against each other, with the semifinals being played between the top four positions of the points table. Nepal and India, who won these matches, played in the final. The Blind cricket is played with a plastic ball, which has iron bearings inside it, making a sound when it bounces.

This was the first time a Blind T20 World Cup was being played in women’s cricket, as the Blue Brigade maintained its dominance by winning it, as the men’s blind team won the ODI and T20 World Cup multiple times. The Women’s team has earned the global-level title for the first time.

Before the blind team, India’s Women’s Cricket Team also won its first World Cup. That clash was played at the iconic DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai, where they defended their 298 total against South Africa in the final. They made a strong turnaround in the group stage after three successive defeats against the Proteas, England, and Australia.

A video has gone viral on social media players, where the 14-year-old Indian cricket team member, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, scrolled through the Instagram Reels. The star member of the national side was found to be liked a mms video as the X account (formerly known as Twitter) holder humorously warned the Rajasthan Royals to reclaim his phone amid his rising fame.

Vaibhav Suryavanshiwho was born in 2011, has held the record as the youngest Ranji Trophy debutant at an age of 12 and the youngest T20 centurion with 101 runs off 38 deliveries for the Royals earlier in 2025. The inaugural champions of the competition, the Rajasthan Royals, bought him in the IPL auction for his left-handed batting potential.

Quite hard to believe, but the southpaw featured in 12 first-class innings for Bihar and collected only 207 runs at 17.25, thanks to one half-century, including the best score of 93.

In the opening game of the Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025 against the United Arab Emirates in Doha, India’s left-handed batter cracked a fine knock of 144 runs in 42 balls at a strike rate of 342.85, with the help of 11 boundaries and 15 sixes as they posted a massive score of 297/4 in their 20 overs.

The event serves as a crucial platform for displaying the next generation for the side against some of the talented players of Asia’s youth team. India’s jaw-dropping 0-2 series defeat against South Africa at home has seen their head coach, Gautam Gambhir, being criticized massively under intense scrutiny. This is the second time the home side had been blanked in a red-ball series under Gamhir, following their 0-3 series defeat against New Zealand at home.

Highlighting Ravichandran Ashwin’s YouTube channel, the former SA captain, Ab de Villiers, reckoned that emotions might be at the heart of their current coaching debate. He offered a layered view of the head coach’s balanced concern and perspective.

“I don't know what GG is like when it comes to leadership. I've known him as an emotional player, and if that is the case in the change room, generally, an emotional coach is not a good thing to have. It's not to say he's that kind of a coach behind the scenes. There's no right and wrong. Some players feel comfortable with a former player, some with someone who's never played but has years of coaching experience.De Villiers expressed in a YouTube video.

Ab Villiers reflects on Gautam Gambhir’s coach after 0-2 series defeat against South Africa

The remark instantly struck a chord in the cricketing world. Ashwin also shed light on how the players would need to apply themselves in the middle as the batters would be required to bat with the coach, who could only give them various suggestions.

“I absolutely loved playing under Gary Kirsten; he's a former player and similar to Gautam Gambhir. Some players find confidence with a former great being there — someone who inspires you to put in extra yards,De Villiers noted in the video.

“We want to ask for responsibility. It’s easy, because in Indian cricket, you know it and I know it — there’s a lot to gain and a lot of money involved. So many people are ready to take the job, and there will always be people putting their hat in the ring. But the fact is, a coach cannot pick up the bat and go out to play. He can only do his job, talk to the players — that’s all.Ashwin also addressed the video.

Australia will continue to be without their regular captain, Pat Cummins, for the second Ashes 2025/26 Test, which will be a day-night contest at the Gabba in Brisbane. The selectors have picked the same 14 players who were on duty in Perth, with Josh Inglis, Michael Neser, and Beau Webster among those who failed to make it into the eleven.

Cummins bowled to Steve Smith on November 28 at the SCG and will travel to Brisbane with the team. He is likely to make his return in the third Test at the Adelaide Oval, which gives him two weeks to prepare. Their opening batter, Usman Khawaja, has retained his place in the squad after back spasms in Perth.

Travis Head’s success during the chase of Australia, where he smashed a fine knock of 123 runs off just 83 runs in the fourth innings of the game, has prompted debate about whether it should be made a permanent move.

Australia retain 14-member squad for second D/N Ashes 2025/26 Test in Brisbane

The absence of Cummins means that Brendan Doggett, who claimed five wickets in Perth, is likely to retain his place alongside the experienced duo of Scott Boland and Mitchell Starc. However, a question stands on Nathan Lyon, given he only bowled two overs in Perth and didn’t feature in Australia’s most recent pink-ball Test at the Sabina Park in Jamaica.

“I am going to control what I can control, keep ticking the legs over, and keep bowling and trying to improve in every session and game. If I get called on in that second Test, I feel like I am ready to go again.” Doggett expressed. Josh Hazlewood, who never had a chance to play in Brisbane, continued his recovery from a hamstring injury.

Australia lost their previous day-night Test at the Gabba against the West Indies, where they were blown away before the superb, fiery spell of Shamar Joseph.

The three Indian star players- one-time notable leg spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal, the left-arm fast bowler, Arshdeep Singh, and another leg-spinner, Ravi Bishnoi- interacted with each other on the Instagram live on social media. They shared several hilarious moments that went viral among the fans and became a vital talking point.

Bishnoi informed Chahal that the third season of the ‘Family Man’ web series was released last week. To this statement, Chahal claimed that even though he has just started to watch that and is on the third episode of the first season, the makers had already released the third season. And that was the time when Arshdeep Singh blasted a hilarious comment on Chahal.

Singh claimed that the first season of the ‘Family Man’ in Chahal’s career was the most costly. It was perhaps indicated towards the divorce incident between Chahal and his wife, Dhanashree Verma, where the former agreed to pay an estrangement of INR 4.75 crore in alimony, with 2.37 crore already paid. The Bombay High Court expedited the divorce process for the Indian spinner, who was busy in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 at that time.

Chahal and Verma, who tied the knot in 2020, have been living separately for almost a year regarding their divorce. The Bombay High Court allowed the pleas by the leg spinner and his wife seeking to waive the cooling-off period of six months stipulated under Section 13B of the Hindu Marriage Act for a divorce.

Chahal, who has earned 121 wickets in 69 innings of the 50-over format at an average of 27.13 and a strike rate of 30.90 with an economy rate of 5.26, and picked up 96 wickets in 79 innings of the T20Is at an average of 25 and an economy rate of 8.19, has been out of the national side for more than two years.

The 35-year-old recently featured in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2025/26 for the Hayana side against Puducherry, where he picked up 2/46 with their team falling short of the target by five runs.

India’s one-time premier leg spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal, was interacting with two other members of the national side- the leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi and the left-arm fast bowler of the side, Arshdeep Singh, in a live on Instagram. He was under his blanket in the video as they shared fun during the conversation with Arshdeep and Bishnoi.

Chahal told the Indian left-arm pacer that in life, he now has no wife and only a blanket. He also noted that the Punjab-born fast bowler should now get married, to which Arshdeep gave a stunning reply and asked Chahal if the latter wasn’t happy seeing him chill with life.

The next reply of Chahal was hilarious and went viral on social media platforms. He claimed that perhaps Ashdeep Singh’s bank balance had been enough at the moment. Chahal has gone through a tough time in his life after his divorce from Dhanashree Verma. The couple got separated in 2022 and had been living apart for over a year before their mutual consent divorce was finalized.

The couple has been separated since 2022, which is a key factor in the Bombay High Court’s decision to waive the mandatory six-month cooling-off period. The Haryana spinner agreed to pay a settlement of INR 4.75 crore as part of the divorce terms. He had also given conflicting careers and the inability to spend time together as the key factors.

Chahal was part of the first round of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2025/26 for Haryana against Puducherry. During the contest, the leg spinner ended with 2/46 in his four overs at an economy rate of 11.50 as the opponents posted a massive score of 201/9 in their 20 overs, thanks to a 60-run knock in 35 balls from Pugazhendi Akash.

In reply, Haryana fell short of the target by five runs and lost the contest. Chahal, who has been out of the national side for more than two years despite collecting 217 wickets in white-ball cricket, aims to make one last return in Indian colors.

By the end of November 28, a statement went viral around the social media platforms, which claimed that Anushka Sharma goes to GG. Actually, it happened during the recently concluded mega auction of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026, which took place in Delhi with all five franchises- Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, UP Warriorz, and Gujarat Giants- building their strong squad.

During the auction, one cricketer’s name evoked curiosity on social media, and it wasn’t hard to understand why. Unlike the famous Bollywood namesake, Anushka Sharma is an upcoming cricketer from Madhya Pradesh, who is known for her hard-hitting abilities. Apart from being a dependable batter, she also bowls off-spin.

Anushka started from a base price of INR 10 lakh, as the Gujarat Giants eventually picked up the player for a price of INR 45 lakh, overcoming the competition from Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), who took the bid till INR 40 lakh. The 22-year-old is one of the rare batters on display in India’s domestic circuit.

Anushka has been a strong performer with a List A average of 63. In the domestic T20s, her game has improved. During the Senior Women’s Inter-Zonal T20 trophy, she represented the Central Zone and had a fine season for the Madhya Pradesh side.

The full squad of UP Warriorz looks pretty solid on paper after the WPL 2026 auction, which was held on November 27. They caught everyone's attention instantly when they used their RTM for Indian star all-rounder Deepti Sharma for a record price of Rs 3.20 crore. The Delhi Capitals franchise was also behind Sharma and set the price bar for her at Rs. 3.20 crore, which was matched by UP Warriorz. After Smriti Mandhana, Deepti became the joint most expensive player in the history of the Women's Premier League.

From the first set of players in the auction, they cashed in Rs 1.90 lakh for legendary Australian batter and former captain Meg Lanning. This move instantly bolstered their batting strength and leadership qualities. Abhishek Nayar, head coach of the franchise, was there in the center of their table, discussing their moves.

Another surprise of the auction was Shikha Pandey. Out of nowhere, this underrated Indian all-rounder experienced a great payday. UP Warriorz roped in for a whopping amount of Rs 2.40 crore.

It is necessary to remember that the franchise was going into the auction ceremony with Rs 14.50 crore, as they retained only one player from their previous squad—Shweta Sehrawat. The 21-year-old right-handed batter from Delhi, who has played 23 WPL matches for UPW in the past, was retained by the franchise for Rs 50 lakh.
