The Strikers come into the match in patchy form, losing their past three matches before their last match had a rain-affected no result. SDS also had no result in their most recent match. The South Delhi Superstarz will meet the North Delhi Strikers for match 36 in the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi, on Tuesday, August 26 at 2:00 PM IST. SDS have won three matches out of eight played and will sit in fifth position on the points table, while NDS are sitting in sixth position with three wins. Both teams will be eager to register a win and improve their standings in the league.

The Strikers’ recent form has been inconsistent, with three consecutive losses before their last rain-affected match against East Delhi Riders, which ended in no result. SDS also had a no result in their previous match against West Delhi Lions, with rain interrupting the seven-over contest. Both teams will need a day to adapt quickly and opportunistically in an important mid-table clash.

SDS vs NDS: Head to Head

 • SDS Won: 01
 • NDS Won: 01
 • No result: 00

Historically, the teams are very evenly matched, having won one match each in the last two games played to the same conditions.

SDS vs NDS: Pitch Report

The Arun Jaitley Stadium pitch is expected to remain balanced for this match. Earlier in the tournament, the first innings average was around 190, but it has dropped to 143 in the last 10 games. The team batting first has won six of the last 10 games at this venue, so the toss could play a key role, with the winning captain likely to opt to bowl.

<![CDATA[Top 3 reasons why Purani Dilli 6 lost to Central Delhi Kings in the DPL 2025 match 35]]> https://www.cricketwinner.com/cricket-news/top-3-reasons-why-purani-dilli-6-lost-to-central-delhi-kings-in-the-dpl-2025-match-35/ https://www.cricketwinner.com/cricket-news/top-3-reasons-why-purani-dilli-6-lost-to-central-delhi-kings-in-the-dpl-2025-match-35/ Mon, 25 Aug 2025 23:52:40 GMT

In Match 35 of the DPL 2025, Purani Dilli 6 was beaten badly by Central Delhi Kings with a margin of 104 runs. CDK, after being asked to bat, made a huge 197/5 in 18 overs, powered by Yash Dhull’s sensible 53, Aryan Rana’s 42* off 14 balls and Jonty Sidhu’s quickfire 28. Although Rajneesh Dadar got good support from the other bowlers, he was unable to stop the flow of runs. Purani Dilli 6 were never in the match while chasing the revised target and were all out for 69 in 11.1 overs. The difference in batting and bowling strength was very evident in the game and PD6 were left trailing in all departments. Below are the main reasons for Purani Dilli 6 defeat.

1. Top Order Collapse

Wickets kept falling for Purani Dilli 6 at intervals and the batsmen of the top order couldn't stand the pressure of chasing a large target. Except for Pranav Pant (25 off 17), none of the batsmen looked comfortable and they all got out cheaply. Because of this weak start, the team was always playing behind the required rate, which made it almost impossible to come back.

2. Central Delhi Kings’ Bowling Brilliance

The CDK bowlers were very efficient in their execution of the plans; they were taking wickets early and were able to repeat the same performance frequently. Jonty Sidhu (2/6) and Simarjeet Singh (2/7) were very quick in dismantling the core batting lineup. Arun Pundir got two wickets in the middle overs that killed the remaining hope of a fightback and highlighted CDK’s complete control over the game.

3. Weak Bowling in Powerplay Overs

While Rajneesh Dadar picked up 3 wickets, the other bowlers leaked runs heavily in the first 10 overs. Aryan Rana’s quickfire 42* and Dhull’s fifty ensured CDK crossed 190 with ease. Poor line and lack of execution meant PD6 were chasing far too many on a tough surface.

Central Delhi Kings ran riot as they crushed Purani Dilli 6 by 104 runs. Batting first, CDK made an enormous 197/5 in their 18 overs, with classy contributions from Yash Dhull and a late onslaught from Aryan Rana. PD6's batsman fell apart but limped to 69 all out in 11.1 overs as they struggled against a clinical bowling attack.

Central Delhi Kings Innings – 197/5 in 18 overs

CDK's innings was based on solid contributions in the top order. Yash Dhull (53 off 37) anchored the innings, and although Kaushal Suman (57 off 53) provided stability, Jonty Sidhu (28 off 16) and Aryan Rana had explosive finishes with an impressive 42 off 14* runs. Purani Dilli 6 bowlers struggled to control runs, with only Rajneesh Dadar (3/30) being influential.

Batting Highlights:

Purani Dilli 6 Innings—69 all out in just 11.1 overs

Chasing a tough target of 174 (in 15 overs), Purani Dilli 6 never looked likely to chase down the runs. Other than Pranav Pant's (24 off 17) effort and a bit of resistance from Vansh Bedi (14 off 6), the team fell apart. The CDK bowlers were ruthless and aggressive in their full frontal assault on the batting line-up, led by the effective pair of Arun Pundir (2/28), Simarjeet Singh (2/6), and Jonty Sidhu (2/6).

Will Abhinav Manohar's run drought come to an end? He played an outstanding unbeaten 63-run knock in match 29 of the ongoing Maharaja Trophy T20 2025. Manohar and Krishnan Shrijith's authoritative batting cornered Namma Shivamogga bowlers. The power-hitter duo took their team, Hubli Tigers, to a total of 195, batting first.

Like the bowlers, Shivamogga batters too were looking clueless and bundled for only 90 runs while chasing the competitive target of 196. Manohar is one of the most expensive players in this season's Maharaja Trophy T20 tournament. Because of his hard-hitting abilities and experience in playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL), cricket fans have high hopes for the middle-order batsman.

Manohar's IPL 2025 journey with Sunrisers Hyderabad was not a sweet reality; it was a disappointing season for the Karnataka-born. Today's match (August 25, 2025) can be a turning point, marking the end of his run drought. In the 63-run innings against Shivamogga, the right-handed batter hit five boundaries and 3 over boundaries to maintain a strike rate of 180.00 after facing 35 deliveries.

Manohar went through a tough time

Before the tournament, when IPL 2025 was already over, Manohar had to lie down in bed because of illness. At first, he had to suffer from jaundice and then a viral fever. "Back-to-back illnesses have taken a toll on my body. But that happens, I mean. I'm just focusing on getting fit now. "Fit and healthy, basically," he said in a media conversation.

Sunrisers Hyderabad wanted to shape Manohar into a pure finisher, one of the most crucial and hard roles for any batter. It was a new assignment and a challenge for the batter. His IPL journey, as previously mentioned, was not a pleasant one, but he learned a lot during this period, which was reflected in today's game when he was on full flow. "Six-hitting just became very natural to me. From a young age, I've been able to do it. And I realized that that is my strength. And I decided to go with it and not change my batting," he added.

Oval Invincibles Women were beaten by 8 wickets by London Spirit Women in the 29th match of The Hundred Women's 2025. Invincibles could only accumulate 108/8 with the bat, with Marizanne Kapp (32), Paige Scholfield (22), and Meg Lanning (19) being the main scorers. It was a very easy run chase for London Spirit as they reached 112/2 in 62 balls, after a superb knock from Kira Chathli. The margin of the result was indicative of the difference in execution and determination between the two sides. Below are the main reasons for the Oval Invincibles Women defeat.

1. Weak batting performance

Oval Invincibles could never form any meaningful partnerships as they continued to lose wickets at regular intervals, with Kapp (32 off 25), Scholfield (22 off 21) and Lanning (19 off 20) making the only meaningful scores. Perhaps with no help from some of the batsmen, the total of 108/8 was well short of par.

2. Spirit’s bowling dominance

The London Spirit bowlers never relented, able to build pressure continually and take wickets at telling moments. Charlotte Dean was the pick of the bowlers with 2/12, and Eva Gray picked up 2/12 in her spell. The bowlers executed their plans and ensured the Invincibles couldn't score freely, putting them continually on the back foot.

3. Confident chase from Spirit

London Spirit’s top order ensured there were no hiccups in the chase. Kira Chathli smashed 53 from 29 balls, supported well by Georgia Redmayne with 42 from 30. Their aggressive intent saw the team cruise home in just 62 balls, highlighting the gulf in confidence.
