In the grand finale of the 2025 Global Super League (GSL), the Guyana Amazon Warriors faced off against the Rangpur Riders at the Providence Stadium, the Amazon Warriors won the toss and decided to bat first. The Warriors produced a dominant all-around performance to defeat the Rangpur Riders by 32 runs and claim the GSL 2025 title.

Guyana Amazon Warriors Innings

Batting first in the high-pressure final, Guyana Amazon Warriors posted an imposing total of 196 for 4 in 20 overs. A brilliant performance from top-order contributions. Johnson Charles was in excellent form with the bat, scoring 67 off 48 balls with punchy and well-timed shots. His opening partner, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, matched his aggression with a powerful 66 off 38, putting pressure on the Rangpur bowlers. Romario Shepherd’s quickfire innings of 28* off 9 balls added to the total in the death overs. Although Iftikhar Ahmed (1/12) and Tabraiz Shamsi (1/28) took a couple of wickets, Rangpur’s bowling lacked consistency, which allowed Guyana to score freely and exceed 190 runs.

Rangpur Riders Innings 

While chasing a 197 run target, the Rangpur Riders fought hard but were bowled out for 164 within 19.5 overs. Iftikhar Ahmed, their captain, kept the chase alive with a valiant 46 off 29, while Saif Hassan scored 41 off 26 in a steady top-order partnership. Late innings cameos from Mahidul Islam Ankon, who scored 30 off 17, kept initial hopes alive; however, Guyana’s bowlers were relentless and continued to pick up wickets at crucial moments. Dwaine Pretorius was particularly impressive, taking 3 for 37 runs, while Gudakesh Motie (2/32) and Imran Tahir (2/39) applied the squeeze. Rangpur's batting collapsed in the last overs as they were bowled out with one ball remaining.

With this complete victory, the Guyana Amazon Warriors lifted the ExxonMobil GSL 2025 trophy, demonstrating power-packed batting and clinical bowling in a dominant final performance.
