Defending champions India national cricket team defeated England national cricket team by seven runs in the second semi-final of theICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 on Thursday. With this win, India reached the final and will now face the New Zealand national cricket team on Sunday.

During the match, Hardik Pandya’s son Agastya was seen in the stands at the Wankhede Stadium. Agastya was sitting with Hardik Pandya’s girlfriend, Maheika Sharma, and cheering for his father during the high-voltage clash against England.

Hardik Pandya came out to bat when India were already moving towards a big total after England captain Harry Brook won the toss and chose to bowl first. In a powerful batting display, India posted a huge total of 254 runs for England to chase.

Hardik Pandya Shines as India Reach T20 World Cup 2026 Final

In the match, Hardik Pandya played an important cameo. He scored 27 runs from just 12 balls with three fours and two sixes. In the last over, he was facing Will Jacks when his son Agastya was seen cheering from the stands. Hardik then smashed a big six, which made the moment even more special for the family. With the ball, Hardik also took two wickets and finished with figures of 2/38.

Hardik Pandya also recently gifted his son Agastya and his former wife Natasa Stankovic a black Land Rover Defender, which costs around ₹4 crore. Reports say he gave the gift after the 25th birthday of his current girlfriend, Maheika Sharma.

Chasing a huge target of 254, Jacob Bethell played a brilliant knock of 105 runs from 48 balls, but it was not enough for the England national cricket team. England finished with 246/7 in 20 overs. For India, Jasprit Bumrah took 1/33, while Hardik Pandya picked up two wickets. Arshdeep Singh, Axar Patel and Varun Chakravarthy also took one wicket each.

Earlier, Sanju Samson scored a brilliant 89 runs from 42 balls at the Wankhede Stadium. He started the attack with a boundary and a six against Jofra Archer in the first over. Samson reached his fifty in just 26 balls and kept the pressure on the England bowlers. India finally posted 253 runs on the board, which is the fourth-highest total in the history of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup.
