Has Gill just opened up about rift with Rohit Sharma? Find out! - Cricket Winner

Amid reports of Shubman Gill unfollowing Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma on Instagram, the young batter has shared a few pictures with Sharma, dispelling any rumors of a rift. Gill, along with fellow cricketer Avesh Khan, will return to India as the Indian team heads to the Caribbean for the Super 8 stage of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024.

Gill’s Instagram post “learning the art of discipline” with Rohit Sharma goes viral

On Sunday afternoon (IST), Shubman Gill took to Instagram to share a picture with Rohit Sharma and his daughter, Samaira. “Sammy and I learning the art of discipline from @rohitsharma45,” Gill wrote on the picture posted as his Insta story.

The 24-year-old added a cheeky caption to the post, which quickly gained traction on social media. This move comes in the wake of reports about Gill unfollowing Sharma on Instagram, sparking speculation about a possible fallout. However, the shared images seem to have put those rumors to rest, showcasing a friendly moment between the players.

“There was very little gap between games for any extensive practice. So it was decided by the management to release the two players as matches are literally back to back and there is very little scope for marathon practice sessions to happen. Khaleel is already there to ensure the left-arm variety in nets if needed,” he added.

Travel plans adjusted for Gill and Khan

Earlier on Saturday, News CricketNext reported that Shubman Gill and Avesh Khan, who were part of the travelling reserves, will not accompany the Indian team to the West Indies for the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup. Initially, both players were supposed to travel with the team for the entire tournament. However, due to the schedule for the next stage, the management decided against carrying the full squad of 19, which included 15 main squad members and four travelling reserves.

India is slated to play their Super 8 matches on June 20, 22, and 24. If they qualify, they will compete in the second semi-final on June 27. The adjustments in travel plans reflect strategic decisions made by the team management to optimize resources as they advance in the tournament.
