The Indian team managed to avoid a loss at Manchester thanks to the crucial stands by Shubman Gill and KL Rahul for the third wicket and Washington Sundar paired with Ravindra Jadeja for the fifth wicket. The Indian batting lineup saw through the dreadful Day 5 as the game ended in a draw. Out of the six batters batted in the second innings, three scored the century and one of them was Jadeja.

Jadeja, who has been in great form with the bat in the series, converted his fifty into a hundred at the end of the day. Jadeja has now completed 1000 Test runs in England, joining legendary West Indies all-rounder Garry Sobers in an elite list. He also became the third cricketer in the world to score 1000 runs and take at least 30 wickets in a foreign country. Jadeja now has 1096 Test runs and 34 Test wickets to his name in England overtaking the legends with his run tally.
