ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, Group 2, Super Eights - SL vs PAK: Toss Update, Playing XIs

It is the last game of Group 2 of the Super Eights in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, Sri Lanka vs Pakistan, which Pallekele International Cricket Stadium is hosting on Saturday night (February 28). 

While the hosts Sri Lanka have already been eliminated from the tournament, Pakistan are facing a must-win game with a big margin to qualify for the Semi-finals. The actual winning margin will be revealed after the first innings, while the Men in Green need to win by at least 65 runs. 

In Group 2 Super Eights, Sri Lanka lost to England and New Zealand by 51 runs and 61 runs, respectively. Meanwhile, Pakistan started the Super Eights with a rain washout against New Zealand, before losing the match against England by two wickets in the thriller.

Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka won the toss and chose to bowl first.

Sri Lanka made two changes in the playing XI. Kamil Mishara and Janith Liyanage replaced Kusal Mendis and Dushan Hemantha.
