India faces off against Zimbabwe in the 48th match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 Super Eight at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on February 26. Both sides have lost their previous games and will be keen to get a win on the board to stay alive for a place in the semi-finals.

India had a tough time in their last match against South Africa, as they lost by 76 runs. While chasing a target of 188, the Indian batting lineup failed miserably and was bowled out for just 111 runs. Jasprit Bumrah impressed with the ball earlier, picking up three wickets for only 15 runs. Shivam Dube was the top scorer for India with 42 runs, but the team failed to build partnerships during the chase. With only a few matches remaining, India must win their upcoming games to keep their knockout hopes alive.

Zimbabwe also had a disappointing loss after their impressive performance in the group stage. They lost to West Indies by 107 runs in their last Super Eight match. Zimbabwe conceded 254 runs while bowling first and later managed 147 in reply. Brad Evans played a fighting knock of 43 runs and also contributed with the ball. They lost the match to West Indies by 107 runs in their previous Super Eight match.

IND vs ZIM: Pitch Report

The pitch at MA Chidambaram Stadium is expected to help batters at the start of the match. Early on, the surface has good pace and bounce, making it easier to play shots. As the game goes on, batters may adjust to hard-length balls and continue scoring. Later, spinners may find good turn from the wicket. A first-innings score of 175 to 190 looks possible here.
