An easy win for Australia on a rain-soaked day in Perth. Under a heavy sky and on a fresh, bouncy pitch at the Optus Stadium, Team India batters struggled throughout the first innings of the match. The toss might have been a significant factor in deciding the fate of the match today (October 19).

First Innings:

India: 136/9 (26)

India went to bat first with their opener Rohit Sharma and newly appointed ODI captain Shubman Gill. The craze around the match was crazy mostly because of Sharma and Virat Kohli, who made a comeback for team India after almost a 5-month break. But their comeback proved disappointing, as both of them underperformed. Rohit went for 8 runs, while Kohli went for a duck. Apart from Axar Patel (31) and KL Rahul (38), no other Indian batter was able to touch the 20-run mark on an individual basis. Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Owen, and Matthew Kuhnemann claimed a brace each.

Second Innings:

Australia: 131/3 (21.1/26)

Australia won by 7 wickets

Because of pouring rain, the 50-over match was reduced to 26-over, and Australia had to score only 131 runs to win the match, according to the DLS method. Against 3 wickets, the home team achieved the target total easily. Captain Mitchell Marsh (46*) guided his team to a comfortable win from the front. Josh Philippe (37) and Matt Renshaw (21*) provided him the required support. The Indian bowling lineup without Jasprit Bumrah was not able to do enough to trouble the chasing side.
