The handshake gate remains fresh as both teams, India and Pakistan, qualified for the Super Four round of the ongoing Asia Cup 2025. On Sunday, the arch rivals will again stand toe-to-toe on the field for the title race. Ahead of the match, due to the unsolved no-handshake incident during their previous meeting, a question remains: Will Team India hold on to their policy in the upcoming event too?

According to various social media reports, Men in Blue plan to remain firm on their no handshake policy. If that happens again, then the lively controversy can be more intensified. Though, as of now, there were no official confirmations from Team India or from BCCI. Journalists raise the issue during the press conference ahead of the India vs Oman match.

Kuldeep Yadav handled the situation, maintaining full professionalism. He told the reporters that his duty is only to take wickets against any opponent. "When you step onto the field, it's just a batter in front of you. I have always approached it this way against Pakistan."

Will India maintain their stand in the upcoming IND vs PAK Asia Cup 2025 clash?

On the other hand, Pakistan skipper Salman Ali Agha also did not want to escalate the controversy further. He said that their focus is purely on matches.  "If we play good cricket like we have played in the last few months, I think we'll be good against any side," Agha said. 

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) threatened to withdraw from the Asia Cup 2025 ahead of the match against the United Arab Emirates, accusing match referee Andy Pycroft of taking India's side. Later, PCB informed us that the accused match refresh has apologized for the incident. Pakistan went to play the match against UAE an hour later than the original schedule and confirmed their Super Four spot by winning the game.
