IND vs PAK T20WC Boycott: The issue surrounding the India vs Pakistan match in the T20 World Cup 2026 is gaining momentum, and now Jio Hotstar (the official broadcaster) has also entered the matter. Jio Hotstar has reportedly issued a warning to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), stating that if Pakistan boycotts the match scheduled for February 15th, legal action will be taken against the board.

ICC has also cautioned Pakistan not boycott the match. This comes just a day after Pakistan hinted at boycotting the India vs Pakistan match; an official statement regarding this has not yet been issued.

PTI sources report that the ICC has taken a firm stand and warned that if Pakistan proceeds with the boycott, the financial loss caused to broadcasters will be recouped from Pakistan's tournament revenues, which are expected to be around USD 35 million. According to PCB sources, Chairman Mohsin Naqvi discussed the matter with various board officials as well as Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif last week.

The Pakistan team reached Colombo to play their first warm-up match against Ireland. However, the match was abandoned due to heavy rain. Due to the India-Pakistan controversy, both countries had agreed to play their matches at a neutral venue. Therefore, all of Pakistan's matches were scheduled to be played in Sri Lanka. However, Pakistan has now decided not to play against India, a decision that will largely be detrimental to PCB itself.
