Delhi Capitals(DC) will play against Sunrisers Hyderabad(SRH) in the fifty-fifth match of IPL 2025 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. SRH came close to winning the title last season but finished as runners-up, while DC failed to qualify for playoffs in the IPL 2024.

When they last played these two teams, Delhi Capitals won against Sunrisers Hyderabad by 7 wickets in the 10th match of IPL 2025 at Visakhapatnam. Mitchell Starc bowled brilliantly for DC, taking 5 wickets and putting SRH under pressure. Aniket Verma played good strokes for SRH with a solid 74 runs in 41 balls, helping his team reach 163 runs. In the second innings, DC’s Faf du Plessis played a quick and classy knock of 50 from just 27 balls. DC chased down the target easily in 16 overs.

DC: Impact players 

Mohit Sharma: An experienced pacer who can be brought in as a substitute when bowling second, especially if the conditions are set for fast bowlers. With 134 wickets in 119 IPL matches, he adds valuable experience to the team. 

Karun Nair: A dependable backup batter who can be used if DC needs more depth after losing early wickets in quick time in the first Innings. He can also replace a bowler in the second innings if needed.

Ashutosh Sharma: A talented batter who can play an important role if Delhi Capitals lose quick wickets while batting first or need to chase a big target in the Second Innings. He made an impact in the first match, scoring 66 runs against LSG after coming in as a substitute.

Dushmantha Chameera:The Sri Lankan pacer, known for swinging the new ball, can be used in the second innings if the pitch supports pacers. However, only three overseas players can be in the playing XI if Chameera is brought in later if the team needs an extra bowler.

SRH: Impact players 

Abhinav Manohar: He came in to bat for SRH when they were in trouble at 35/5 against MI in the last match. He could be a handy finisher for the team.

Rahul Chahar: The right-arm leg-spinner hasn’t played much this season, but since the match is in Chennai, he might be needed in the XI.

Mohammed Shami: He hasn’t been at his best this season, but SRH might give him a chance in the playing XI because they believe in him.

Wiaan Mulder: A useful all-rounder, the South African can contribute with both the bat and the ball, making him a valuable player to have.
