Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) secured a historic 6-run victory over Punjab Kings (PBKS) in a thrilling IPL 2025 Final at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. With this win, RCB lifted their maiden IPL trophy, ending an 18-year wait for championship glory.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru Innings

RCB put up a formidable score of 190 for 9 off their 20 overs, highlighted by a composed innings from Virat Kohli, who scored 43 off 35 balls under pressure. In the middle overs, Rajat Patidar (26 off 16) and Liam Livingstone (25 off 15) recorded cameos in RCB's innings, which kept the scoreboard ticking. As was the case through the innings, Punjab Kings' bowlers settled on the pitch with frequent breakthroughs, the best of the bowlers being Arshdeep Singh (3/40) and Kyle Jamieson (3/48). Despite never being in absolute control, RCB's batters managed to find the boundary with some regularity, finishing the innings at 190, just short of the 200 mark.

Punjab Kings Innings

Chasing 191 for championship glory, PBKS were off to a rocky start but were brought back into contention through Shashank Singh's sensational 61* off 30 balls. Josh Inglis then settled in to score 39 off 23 deliveries, and Prabhsimran Singh added 26 from 22 balls, but RCB's disciplined approach made scoring quite hard, with Krunal Pandya (2/17) and Vyshak Vijay Kumar (1/30) doing significant damage at vital times. A late flourish by PBKS had Punjab Kings finishing their innings at 184 for 7, agonisingly falling just six runs short of the target.
