RR vs PBKS

Punjab Kings (PBKS) narrowly clinched a 10-run victory over Rajasthan Royals (RR) with a high-quality win on the 59th match of the IPL 2025 series at Jaipur, demonstrating a good all-round performance with the bat and ball both. PBKS set a target of 220 runs for the win, showing an aggressive yet controlled batting approach which was led by Nehal Wadhera and Shashank Singh.

Punjab Kings Innings

Nehal Wadhera's quick 70 from 37 balls was an explosive start that not only punched hard but also was very smart in shot selection. Later on, Shashank Singh's innovation in strokeplay and consistent singles not only ensured a quick partnership but also provided them with the build-up they came with in the final overs. Shreyas Iyer's 30 at the right time kept PBKS on course well when the wickets were falling, and Shreyas took the middle of the innings as the best opportunity to be productive. The run rate with PBKS was maintained at an optimal level despite their opening bowlers trying to out-strategise them with the ball in the initial phase of their innings.

Rajasthan Royals Innings

Yashasvi Jaiswal's splendid 50 off 25 balls put Rajasthan ahead, and Dhruv Jurel's composed 53 moved the game within reach despite all the pressure. Vaibhav Suryavanshi's 40 off 15 balls in his later part then moved Rajasthan close to their mark. The Punjab Kings bowlers, led by Harpreet Brar's 3/22, made decisive attacks at key moments of the game. Marco Jansen and Azmatullah Omarzai also picked up key wickets and were able to stop the flow of runs in the end, thus cementing their team's victory.
