PBKS vs MI: Post Match Reactions

Ricky Ponting (Head Coach of PBKS): Ponting pointed out that the team's form is a result of the planning that took place months prior to the auction. He stated that Arya is one of the biggest finds of the tournament and praised Shreyas Iyer for his leadership. He also added that strong overseas leaders such as Inglis and Stoinis helped create a winning culture. Ponting answered questions about swapping Jansen with Kyle Jamieson and wanted to give Jamieson some experiences.

Hardik Pandya (Captain of MI): Hardik admitted that MI fell 20 runs short. He praised the batting of the opponent and said that the team will reflect on their batting strategies. He expressed his support for his players despite the loss and stated that the learning phase has started to regroup into the playoffs.

Josh Inglis (Player of the Match): Josh Inglis remarked that the left-right combination and smart cricket contributed to their successful chase. He said they focused on match-ups and not giving MI a chance in the middle overs. When facing Mitchell Santner, whom he knows pretty well, they targeted the short boundary.   He emphasized the talent of Priyansh Arya, saying that he needed little guidance and called him a smart and fearless cricketer. He commended Shreyas Iyer for promoting him to Number 3 and added that it helped him return to rhythm and contribute more effectively.

Shreyas Iyer (PBKS Captain): Shreyas Iyer credited the team unity, camaraderie, and ability to rally in tough situations. He credited Ricky Ponting's attributes to great player management and said trust and belief in the group have been key. Young players like Arya have stepped in and been able to handle the pressure well. The decision to move Inglis up the order was a tactical decision to get the most out of him with the new ball.
