Virat Kohli to make a comeback in Test cricket? This question has started to spark after some recent developments. It has been almost one month since he made his retirement from Test cricket, which he admires the most to date.

Virat is now 36; maintaining a good shape and form, he could've easily played a couple of years more in Tests, many cricket fans believe. According to some recent updates, there are some possibilities about his second chapter in the whites.

A media report stated Arun Dhumal, president of the Indian Premier League, has urged Virat to make a return in the longest format of the game. He urged the former captain to rethink his decision. But there is a condition, which is already fulfilled.

Dhumal said he wanted Kohli to take back his retirement from his team if Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) won the IPL. Now, it has been more than 48 hours since RCB won the IPL 2025 trophy, but there is nothing from Virat's side about making a U-turn in Test cricket.

Virat to take a u-turn?

On the other hand, Team India, with their new skipper Shubman Gill, is ready to take on England with a newly formed squad. Former Australia international Michael Clarke believes that Virat can push himself for another round in Test. The former Australia World Cup-winning captain strongly feels that if India brutally fails in England, then Virat could reconsider his retirement.

"I believe this. If India goes to England and gets flogged, if they lose the series 5-0, for example, I think the fans will want Virat Kohli to come out of retirement and play Test cricket again. And I honestly think if he was asked by the captain and selectors and supported by fans, if they get beaten big time in England, I think he'll come. He still loves Test cricket. I think his words, I think those words, like, You could hear his passion for Test cricket is real," Clarke said on a podcast.
