After a year of the Khar Gymkhana controversy involving Jemimah Rodrigues and her father, which was allegedly linked to suspicious activities during meetings with Brother Manuel Ministries over an 18-month period, Jemimah has finally spoken about the difficult experience. The incident had led to her suspension from the Khar Gymkhana and deeply affected her faith and confidence.

Speaking to India Today, Jemimah said this was one of the hardest phases of her life. She explained that the false allegations came at a time when she was already struggling with her World Cup form, making the situation even more overwhelming. She said that the emotional impact increased when her parents were targeted for something they did not do.

“Sir, to be honest, I remember when that happened. It was one thing for me to face it, but when my parents were dragged into it for something we didn’t do, it really hurt. Everything we did at that time was according to the rules and regulations, and we had proof of that. But the allegations made against me and my family really affected us deeply because we had done nothing wrong,” Jemimah said on India Today.

Jemimah recalled the night she first saw the news. She said she broke down in tears after reading the messages and hurtful comments about her family and church. “That happened right after the World Cup in Dubai, where we hadn’t done well. I personally hadn’t performed to my expectations and was already feeling low. Then suddenly, I started seeing news, messages, and people saying terrible things about me, and worse, about my family and my church. That broke me… I just started crying.”

Despite the emotional struggle, Jemimah thanked God for giving her strength to rebuild her confidence. Since then, she has made a remarkable comeback, averaging 58.40 and scoring an unbeaten 127 in the semi-final against Australia. As India prepares to face Australia again in 2026, she continues to shine ahead of India’s 2026 clash with Australia.
