Yashasvi Jaiswal

India’s young batting prodigy, Yashasvi Jaiswal, shockingly missed the selection of the Asia Cup 2025 squad, even though he had been brilliant in his last series. He is only 23 years old and has played for India 23 times in T20Is, where he scored a total of 723 runs. Jaiswal is an aggressive yet responsible batter who can attack any bowler, even from ball one to the end in pressure situations, contributing to an incredibly talented part of India's white-ball side.

Despite the fact that the board of selectors didn’t release a reason for him left out, he himself addressed the issue very maturely and focused. In an interview with Mashable India, Jaiswal stated his intent to work hard and remain positive following this disappointment. Jaiswal is a key part of India’s Test team but is still working to secure a place in the white-ball setup and vice-captain Shubman Gill returning to T20Is makes that difficult.

The attitude of Jaiswal clearly shows his professionalism and his acceptance of the complications of team selection. His capacity to remain humble and the way he has been doing it since his early days has won over many fans and experts, thus turning it into a great example of adherence to the game and long-term development.

Focusing on the Future Despite the Snub

"I don't think about it. It's all in the hands of selectors. The decisions are taken according to the team combination. I will do whatever I can. When my time comes, things will fall into place. I just want to keep working on myself and keep working hard," Jaiswal said.

Meanwhile, India’s Asia Cup campaign continues successfully, with three consecutive wins securing their spot in the Super Four. Arch-rivals Pakistan have also qualified, setting up another high-voltage clash on September 21 in Dubai. Following India’s seven-wicket win in their last match and the no-handshake controversy that is still circulating, fans can expect an entertaining and fiery battle between the two neighbouring nations.
