Karnataka and Jammu and Kashmir are up against each other in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2025-26 final in Hubli. The match started on February 25. J&K captain Paras Dogra decided to bat first against a top-level Karnataka bowling line-up. They lost an early wicket in the form of Qamran Iqbal, who was dismissed in the 10th over.

In the match, captain Dogra lost his cool in the 101st over of the innings when he went and head-butted Karnataka's fielder KV Aneesh. The fielder was surprised by the action but held his calm while Mayank Agarwal came in between for a confrontation.

Dogra was batting when he failed to play a sharp delivery from Prasidh Krishna. It's unclear what the fielder said that made Dogra get physical during the match. Infact, Karnataka captain Devdutt Padikkal was also seen talking to the umpires regarding the on-field fight between the players. He was backing his fielder.

As per BCCI's rules, physical altercation during matches results in penalties and hence, Dogra's 50% is likely to be cut. The official announcement will be made by match referee Narayanan Kutty after the end of the match.

Jammu and Kashmir scored 527 runs in first innings

Karnataka's star bowlers failed today against Jammu and Kashmir batters, who went on to put up a mammoth total on the board. They scored 527 runs at the loss of six wickets. The match was called off due to bad light and will be continued tomorrow. At such a high-stakes match, J&K batters didn't fail to score runs.

While Shubham Pundir scored 121 runs, Paras Dogra scored 70, and Sahil Lotra is playing on 57 runs. They can put up some 100-odd runs tomorrow if the batters go on to add 50 runs each. Abid Mushtaq is on the crease along with Lotra. Karnataka batters will have to play extremely well to take a first-innings lead, which seems quite unlikely.

Hence, it will be interesting to see how far the match will go and who will take the trophy home. This is the first time Jammu and Kashmir have qualified for the Ranji Trophy final. They will be hoping to win the title for the first time.
