Ryan Rickelton was clean bowled. Just a hint of swing, and the ball beat the bat to hit the timbers. The left-handed batter went all wrong against the ball, missed the line and the length completely, and bowled out. Bumrah drew the first blood on Day 1 of the India vs. South Africa 1st Test at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
As it was reported, the surface of Eden Gardens has a thin surface of grass. But the cracks of the pitch, from the very first over of the match, puzzled both batting and fielding sides. After winning the toss, South Africa skipper Temba Bavuma chose to bat first. For them, the wicket seemed dry. But for India skipper Shubman Gill, it is a good wicket.

Without facing any barrier, the red ball dismantled the off stump. Ryan Rickelton had to depart for 23 off 22. South Africa lost their first man for 57 on the scoreboard.
