Daryl Mitchell steadied the ship with a serenely played 36 off 33 balls, while Devon Conway contributed quick passage of runs with a flowing 34 off 22. Donovan Ferreira scored the late fireworks with a quick 32 off merely 16 deliveries, taking the team to a fighting score. For the Knight Riders' bowling, Tanveer Sangha took 2/32 from 4 overs, and Shadley van Schalkwyk (1/25) and Andre Russell (1/53) contributed a wicket each.

Pursuing 182, the Knight Riders also capitulated under pressure and were bowled out for 124 in 17.1 overs. Shadley van Schalkwyk scored the highest with 27 off 21, followed by Alex Hales (25 off 17) and Matthew Tromp (23 off 12), but the rest of the batting order collapsed against a scorching Texas bowling attack. Noor Ahmad was the pick of the bowlers, taking 4/25 from 4 overs, with Adam Milne (2/8 off 3.1) and Stephen Wiig (2/25 off 3) picking up the tail to seal a comprehensive win.
