In Qualifier 1 of the 2025 Maharashtra Premier League (MPL), Eagle Nashik Titans put on an emphatic all-round performance to defeat Puneri Bappa by 8 wickets at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune. With this disciplined victory, ENT became the first team to qualify for the grand finale of MPL 2025.

Puneri Bappa, after being required to bat first, scored 153/8 in their 20 overs. Rushikesh Sonavne staged the innings in addition to a calm 67 off 52 deliveries, keeping the side intact while Murtaza Trunkwala (28 off 21) and Suraj Shinde (22 off 16) contributed handy cameos. Though with good beginnings, PB could not escape thanks to relentless blows from the bowlers of the Titans—skipper Prashant Solanki was the leader of the pack with a fine 3/23, ably aided by Akshay Waikar (2/21) and Mukesh Choudhary (2/33), holding Bappa under par on a conducive batting track.

In response, Eagle Nashik Titans easily pursued the 154-run target, gliding to 157/2 in 17.2 overs. Mandar Bhandari was the perfectionist with the bat, thumping a free-scoring 58 from 40 balls. He was ably supported by Sahil Parakh (38 from 24) and Ranjeet Nikam, who sealed the deal with an unbeaten 33 from a mere 16 balls. The top order of the Titans never looked under pressure, dominating right through.

With this emphatic win, Eagle Nashik Titans walked into the MPL 2025 Final, exhibiting dominance in all facets. Puneri Bappa, meanwhile, will have another opportunity in Qualifier 2 to battle for a spot in the final.
