Mackenzie Harvey played an unstoppable century in a Top End T20 match against Bangladesh A. On Saturday (August 23, 2025), the Bangladesh A team was up against the Adelaide Strikers Academy.

The match was positioned to become a neck-to-neck contest as Bangladesh A registered 175—a respectable total—on the scoreboard, batting first. The scenario started to change when Harvey was in a mood to deal only with big hits. Harvey remained unbeaten for 102 off 53 balls, an innings laced with 15 fours and one six. After the explosive batting, cricket fans are enthusiastic to know more about the batter in detail.

He is the nephew of former Australia all-rounder Ian Harvey, who played 73 ODIs for Australia between 1997 and 2004. Mackenzie has great potential to be an impactful limited-over cricketer for the Australia cricket team. He has yet to receive his debut cap though, the southpaw previously represented Under-19 ODIs for Australia on 12 occasions. During these age group matches, the attacking batter claimed 467 runs at an average of 51.88, with one century and four half centuries. His best individual innings of 136 runs came against Pakistan. Apart from these records, the East St Kilda-born has played for Victoria in various age-group levels as well as for their senior team.

Summary of the match

Talking about the BAN-A vs AS-A match, the Bangladesh A team scored 175/4 with help from Jishan Alam and Afif Hossain, who scored 50 and 49* run innings, respectively. Yasir Ali played an important 25* off 15 knock to confirm the respectable total. Hanno Jacobs claimed 3 wickets for the Adelaide Strikers Academy.

When the Strikers came to bat in the second innings, it mostly turned into a one-man show run by Mackenzie Harvey. He stitched a 123-run opening wicket stand with Jake Winter (35) to fade away all hopes of the Bangladesh A team. Adelaide Strikers Academy won the match by 7 wickets and 11 balls to spare.
