NZ-W vs SA-W, 2nd T20I

New Zealand Women are scheduled to play South Africa Women in the 2nd T20I of the five-match T20I series on 17 March at Seddon Park. Having win in the first game, the hosts will be keen to make it 2-0 in the series, while South Africa Women will want to come back stronger.

New Zealand Women started the series strongly with a big victory in the opening match. Batting first, they posted 190 for 7 in their 20 overs. Georgia Plimmer played an impressive innings of 63 runs from 44 balls, while captain Amelia Kerr scored a quick 78 from 44 deliveries. With the ball, the hosts were equally effective. Sophie Devine led the bowling attack with four wickets, while Jess Kerr picked up two as South Africa were limited to 110 for 7. With a 1-0 lead, New Zealand will now aim to continue their momentum.

South Africa Women struggled with the bat in the first T20I and could not chase the big target. Tazmin Brits was the top scorer with 29 runs, while Kayla Reyneke added 24. However, the rest of the batting lineup failed to build partnerships. In the bowling department, Masabata Klaas and Nadine de Klerk took two wickets each. The visitors will need a stronger all-round performance if they want to level the series.

NZ-W vs SA-W: Pitch Report

The pitch at Seddon Park is usually good for batting. The surface helps fast bowlers early with the new ball, but batting becomes easier once players settle at the crease. As the ball gets older, pacers use hard lengths and slower balls to challenge batters. Teams can expect average totals around 170–185 runs in most games played here.
