New Zealand Women will clash with Zimbabwe Women in the second ODI of the three-match series on March 8 at the University Oval in Dunedin. The home team is currently leading the series 1-0 and will look to win the match and win the series, while Zimbabwe Women will look to bounce back and win the match and level the series.

New Zealand Women started the series off on the right foot with a big win in the first match. Brooke Halliday played a brilliant innings, scoring an unbeaten 157, while Maddy Green added 67 runs. Isabella Gaze also contributed with an unbeaten 59. With the ball, captain Amelia Kerr delivered an outstanding performance, taking four wickets and helping the team win by a huge margin. The White Ferns will now try to continue their strong form and clinch the series in the second game.

Zimbabwe Women had a bad outing in the first match of the series and will have to do better in the upcoming match. Kelis Ndhlovu’s half-century was one of the few positives for the visitors, but the rest of the batting lineup struggled to build partnerships. Zimbabwe will now hope to improve with both bat and ball and keep the series alive.

The pitch at University Oval offered good support for batters in the first match. The ball came nicely onto the bat so that the players could play their shots without any restriction. Bowlers will need to maintain good line and length, as even small mistakes can lead to runs. A total above 250 could be competitive here.
