Another day and another milestone for legendary Shane Warne. During a Test match between England and Australia at Old Trafford, Manchester, Warne claimed his 600th Test wicket. First time in the history of cricket, able to mark 600 wickets in the Whites.

Rather than producing a ball of the century, Warne's 600th wicket came in rather a dramatic way. Marcus Trescothick was the batter who involved himself in the historic moment. On August 11, 2005, Trescothick lost his wicket against the iconic spinner. The batter went to sweep the ball but scuffed the ball with the back of his bat, and Adam Gilchrist completed a juggling catch as the ball bobbled up off his thigh. Trescothick departed after a well-made 63 off 117.

In the innings, Warne waved 4 batters to improve his wicket tally. The match could've been more memorable for Australia, but it eventually ended in a draw. Both teams fought their hearts out, producing multiple individual brilliant moments.

An allround game at the Old Trafford 

Simon Jones for England took 6 wickets in the first innings. After taking one wicket in the first innings, Andrew Flintoff went for another 4 scalps in the second phase of the match. Apart from bowling brilliances, Michael Vaughan, then the captain of England, played a brilliant 166-run knock during the first innings. 

The home team had a good opportunity to win the contest against their arch rivals, but Brett Lee and Glenn McGrath somehow managed to hang up on the tenth wicket to save the match for the Aussies. Then the captain of Australia, Ricky Ponting, won the man of the match award for his match-saving 156-run innings.
