Pakistan announces a 15-member T20I squad for the Bangladesh series

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed a 15-player squad for their three-match T20I series against Bangladesh that is set to run from July 20 to July 24 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka. In the absence of injured vice-captain Shadab Khan and senior fast Haris Rauf, all-rounder Salman Ali Agha will once again lead the side.

Shadab recently had surgery on his right shoulder in the UK, making him unavailable for the series, and Rauf picked up a Grade 1 hamstring injury playing for San Francisco Unicorns in the 2025 Major League Cricket (MLC) and is also unavailable for the tour.

Balanced Squads Melding Future Stars and Established Contributors

The squad is a blend of youth and experience. Selection was made based on the significant contributions every one of the players made to domestic and franchise performances. An exciting inclusion was right-arm fast bowler Salman Mirza, who dazzled in Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 9 with Lahore Qalandars. In four matches, Mirza took nine wickets at a 15.00 average, and he is more than deserving of selection.

Batting firepower includes explosive openers Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub, and middle-order firepower of Khushdil Shah and Hussain Talat. All-rounders Faheem Ashraf and Mohammad Nawaz add important depth. Wicketkeeping will be shared by Mohammad Haris and Sahibzada Farhan.

The Pakistan team is scheduled to arrive in Bangladesh on July 16, with the three T20Is to be played on July 20, 22, and 24, all starting at 6:00 PM local time. This will be the second T20I series between the two sides this year. Pakistan had earlier swept Bangladesh 3-0 in May at home and will now look to replicate that success on away soil.
