The runners-up of the Indian Premier League (IPL) from the previous edition of the event, Punjab Kings (PBKS), will lock horns with the Gujarat Titans (GT), the champions of the IPL 2026 season, as the encounter will take place on March 31 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur. Both sides will hope to start on a winning note. 

In the previous season of the IPL, the Shreyas Iyer-led side lost the final of the league against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Bengaluru. Meanwhile, under Shubman Gill, the Titans ended in third position in the points table with nine wins and lost the Eliminator against the Mumbai Indians (MI).
