The former captain of the Mumbai Indians (MI) from the Indian Premier League (IPL), Ricky Ponting, has criticized the media outlets of Pakistan for spreading false quotes which revealed that India were loser for not shaking hands with the Pakistan players during their clash at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium during the Asia Cup 2025.

Suryakumar Yadav nailed the winning six to claim the victory and walked off the field with his partner, Shivam Dube, before the Indian players went up the stairs and locked the dressing room. Ponting, who is the current head coach of the Punjab Kings, has made a statement that he didn’t say anything like that.

The Sony Sports Network, the broadcaster for the event, doesn’t have Ponting as their commentary side for the competition, as it has been addressed:These claims are completely fabricated.
