The Indian team is getting ready to host the three-match ODI series against South Africa, starting on Sunday (November 30). While the hosts just finished the disappointing two-match Test series by losing it 0-2, they need to perform well in the white-ball series to get back their confidence. 

Although the Indian team has just lost the Test series brutally, the Men in Blue’s fans are still excited for the ODI series due to the return of former Indian captains Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who are active in this format only.

• With 133 more runs, Rohit Sharma (4867 ODI runs) will become the third Indian to record 5000 ODI runs at home. 

International runs records

• With 27 runs, Rohit Sharma (1973 international runs) will become the fifth Indian to record 2000 international runs against South Africa.

• With 66 runs, Rohit Sharma (8934 international runs) will become the fourth Indian cricketer to record 9000 international runs at home. 

• Rohit Sharma (19902 international runs) needs 98 runs to become the fourth batter to record 20000 international runs. 

• Rohit Sharma (15787 international runs) needs 213 runs to complete 16000 international runs as an opener and become the seventh opener to achieve this record.

Number of 6s

• With three more sixes, Rohit Sharma (349 ODI sixes) will become the record holder for most ODI sixes by surpassing the present record-holder, former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi (351 ODI sixes).

• With seven more sixes, Rohit Sharma (58 international sixes vs South Africa) will become the record holder for the most international sixes against South Africa by breaking Australian cricketer David Warner’s record of 64 international sixes against the Proteas. 

• With eight more sixes, Rohit Sharma (321 ODI sixes) will surpass West Indies legend Chris Gayle (328 ODI sixes) to become the leading ODI six-hitter as an opener. 

• With eight more sixes, Rohit Sharma (642 international sixes) will become the first cricketer to record 650 international sixes. 

Centuries

• With one more ODI century, Rohit Sharma (14 ODI centuries) will surpass South African Hashim Amla (14 ODI centuries) to become the third most ODI century hitter at home. 

• With one more century, Rohit Sharma (45 international centuries) will surpass legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar (45 international centuries) to reach the second position in the list of most international centuries as an opener. Australian cricketer David Warner is leading this list with 49 international centuries as an opener.
