Pakistan faced a 2-wicket defeat against England on February 24 in the Super 8 match of the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026. They have a slim chance of qualifying for the semi-finals, and hence, the Pakistani fans are quite upset about it. After their loss, the fans started abusing the family members of Pakistan's captain, Salman Agha. 

She has called out the Pakistani fans for abusing her and their son on social media after the loss. His wife, Sabba Manzer, shared a message on Instagram story where she condemned the act. 

“Sending me or my innocent son abuse is not going to win you the World Cup Pakistani fans,” she wrote.

This isn't the first time the cricketers' families have been targeted after losing a match or tournament. The fans crossed their limit by sending death threats and other abuse on social media, even after getting multiple requests from the players themselves to not involve their families in the matter. 

Pakistan scored 164 runs in the first innings. England batters did struggle to chase, but captain Harry Brook played an incredible knock, scoring 100 runs in 51 balls, hitting ten boundaries and seven sixes. He was the reason behind England's win. Now, England have qualified for the semi-finals after two consecutive wins in the Super 8 stage. 

How can Pakistan qualify for semi-finals?

The Men in Green didn't have a dream start to their Super 8 campaign as their first game was abandoned due to rain. The points got divided between them and New Zealand in that match. Now, they'll have to win their upcoming match against Sri Lanka with a good margin. 

They'll also have to depend on other teams' matches. Pakistan will hope England to win against New Zealand. Then, it will be easy for them to qualify. If New Zealand win against England, Pakistan will have to win by a huge margin against Sri Lanka to make it to the semi-finals. While the road seems quite difficult, a strong of cricket can bring them back into the competition.
