Amo Sharks played Boost Defenders in Match 17 of the 2025 Shpageeza Cricket League (SCL) at the Kabul International Cricket Stadium. The Boost Defenders won the toss and chose to bowl first. The Sharks struggled with the bat, but their bowlers were phenomenal and bowled out the Defenders for just 51 runs to ease to a 77-run victory and move from also-ran to serious contenders for a spot in the finals.

The Amo Sharks began to bat cautiously as opener Samiullah Shinwari played a solid hand at the top of the order. His 49 off 34 balls held the innings together as batters continued to fall at the other end. Mohammad Ishaq (26 off 22) and Shahidullah Kamal (18 off 16) added some useful runs, but the Sharks found it tough to build any significant partnerships. Boost Defenders bowled with discipline and control, not allowing any batter to settle. Wahidullah Zadran was the pick of the bowlers with 4/22 in his full quota, dismantling the Sharks’ middle order. Abdul Rahman Rahmani (1/19) and Azim Zadran (1/19) applied further pressure to bowl the Sharks out for 128 in 19.4 overs.

Boost Defenders Innings

Chasing 129 for victory, the Boost Defenders endured a horrific collapse right from the outset. None of the batters could find rhythm, with only three players—Karim Janat (14 off 6), Ibrahim Zadran (12 off 15), and Bilal Ahmad Tarin (11 off 12)—reaching double figures. Amo Sharks bowling was merciless, with Abdullah Ahmadzai spearheading the attack with a phenomenal spell of 4/7 in 3 overs. Yamin Ahmadzai (3/10) and Sharafuddin Ashraf (2/28) were great support to finish the innings in 11 overs. Boost Defenders were bowled out for 51, giving Amo Sharks an emphatic 77-run win.
