West Indies Champions vs South Africa Champions, As It Happened Bowl-Out Drama in Edgbaston. What a match it was at Edgbaston. In a rain-hit game reduced to just 11 overs per side, fans witnessed a rollercoaster of emotions as South Africa Champions and West Indies Champions played out a thrilling tie and it all came down to a bowl-out.

West Indies Champions batted first and scored 79 runs for 5 wickets. Lendl Simmons played a solid knock of 28 from 21 balls, and Chadwick Walton stayed unbeaten on 27. South Africa’s Aaron Phangiso bowled really well, picking up 2 wickets for just 13 runs.

Chasing a DLS target of 81, South Africa had a tough start. They lost Richard Levi and AB de Villiers early, leaving them in trouble at 9 for 2. Sarel Erwee gave hope with a quick 27, and Hashim Amla chipped in with 15. But the wickets kept falling, and it looked like the game was slipping away.

Then came Jean-Paul Duminy, who smashed 25 off just 12 balls to bring the match back to life. South Africa needed 9 runs in the last over and sa scored 8 runs in that final over. Duminy got out, and Fidel Edwards took two big wickets to take it down to the wire. In the end, South Africa finished on 80 for 6 exactly matching the target. The match was tied!

To decide the winner, it went to a bowl-out just like a penalty shootout in football. South Africa hit the stumps twice in the bowl-out. West Indies missed all four of their chances in that bowl out. And just like that, South Africa Champions won the bowl-out 2-0 and walked away with a thrilling victory in WCL 2025. Cricket fans couldn’t have asked for a better finish.
