Shreyas Gopal sparked at the right time for Mangaluru Dragons during the 27th match of the ongoing 2025 Maharaja Trophy T20. With his 3-wicket spell, defeating Bengaluru Blasters, Dragons edge closer to a top-two finish.

Shreyas Gopal, the skipper of Mangaluru Dragons, took some of the dangerous batters of Blasters. Bengaluru was already under pressure as they lost their three top-order batters cheaply, including captain Mayank Agarwal. When they lost their 3rd wicket, only 10 runs were on the scoreboard.

To pull out the team from the trouble, the middle order try to do their best. At the moment when Blasters' middle order was about to shift the gears, Gopal struck. Not once, but on three occasions. He took the wickets of the set batsmen Bhuvan Raju and Shubhang Hegde, who scored 25 and 39, respectively, and Rohan Naveen returned for a duck. Batting first, Bengaluru Blasters scored 146/9 in 20 overs, which Mangaluru Dragons chased down with ease and won the match by 9 wickets.

Gopal entered into this year's Maharaja Trophy T20 carrying the good form that he showed before with Karnataka. The 31-year-old became a regular wicket taker for his state team. Mangaluru openers Lochan Gowda scored 55, and BR Sharath remained not out for 72 runs.
