During the fourth game of the five-match home Women's T20I series against Sri Lanka Women, India Women opener Smriti Mandhana created history by becoming the fastest to complete 10,000 runs in Women's International cricket. 

While India Women are leading the series by 3-0 before the fourth game at Thiruvananthapuram, Sri Lanka Women won the toss and chose to field first for the first time this series. 

Indian openers Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma have produced a century partnership for the first wicket, as both openers completed their half-centuries in the innings.

Smriti Mandhana completed 10,000 international runs in 281 innings

Before the match, Smriti was 27 runs away from completing her 10,000 runs in Women's International cricket. By reaching her 27 runs in the game with a single, the left-handed opening batter completed her 10,000 Women's International runs. 

While Smriti became the fourth batter to record 10,000+ runs in Women's International cricket, she became the fastest to reach this milestone. The left-handed opening batter completed her 10,000 international runs in 281 innings, while the previous record holder, legendary Indian cricketer Mithali Raj, reached the milestone in 291 innings. 

Apart from these two Indian batters, former English cricketer Charlotte Edwards and New Zealand legend Suzie Bates are the other two batters to reach this legendary milestone.
